Director of Special Education and Director of Teaching and Learning

Dr. Mary Clare Beamer brings over 16 years of dedicated experience in education to her role at Cornerstone Community School, where she has served for the past four years as Director of Special Education and Director of Teaching and Learning. In these roles, she leads curriculum and staff development, oversees special education programming and compliance, and works to ensure the unique needs of every learner are met, including gifted students.

Prior to joining Cornerstone, Dr. Beamer spent 12 years in public education as a middle school intervention specialist. Having taught reading and mathematics to students in sixth through eighth grades, she built a deep pedagogical understanding of supporting the needs of diverse learners in the classroom. Dr. Beamer holds a PhD in Special Education, a Master's in Curriculum and Instruction, a Master's in School Leadership, and a Bachelor of Science in Intervention Specialist K–12 with a literacy focus. She also possesses a certificate for the teaching of gifted and talented students.

Outside of school, Dr. Beamer is married to a fellow educator and coach and is the proud parent of wonderful children. She dedicated her life to Christ as a young adult and strives each day to reflect the love, grace, and mercy to others that God has given to her. In her free time, Dr. Beamer enjoys reading, writing, traveling, and spending time with her family.
