"Community" is our Middle Name

Cornerstone Community School runs on community. From the very beginning of CCS in 1995, families have been a driving force behind much of our daily, weekly, and yearly functions. From volunteering in the classrooms to lunch and recess duty to Fantastic Fridays, our parents and families are critical to our school's success. It is one of the things that make us unique, and also one of the things that families love most.

There are several ways you can get involved and use your time and resources to serve the school.

Lunch & Recess Volunteers

Volunteer to help out at CCS during lunch and recess. Parents are a tremendous resource for having a successful lunchtime for our students. Parents help to monitor the lunch room (or classrooms), help students who need assistance, and contribute to a quick and efficient clean-up.

Additionally, parents can help as volunteers as recess monitors. Parents can sign up for specific days and help monitor students on the playground or in the gym on indoor recess days. Please contact Mrs. Bottger to volunteer.

Classroom Helpers

Classroom helpers are vitally important to having successful classroom experiences for students. You can sign up with your student's teacher to learn more about how you can participate as a classroom helper. Specific duties can include: organizing assignments, preparing assignments, cutting out supplies, gathering supplies, and general classroom support.

Fantastic Friday Leaders

Cornerstone Community School is committed to hands-on, experiential teaching, as a way of sparking a life-long love of learning in our children. Our smaller class sizes and excellent student-teacher ratio allow our students ample time to work on basic skills and allow us to offer a unique enrichment and service activity.

Fantastic Friday leaders are needed for these hands-on experiential workshops on an ongoing basis. If you are interested in volunteering to help lead or support a Fantastic Friday event, please contact Deb Gurley at: FantasticFridayCCS@gmail.com.
